Academics

Accreditation

Evergreen Christian School is accredited by Middle States Association Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools (MSA-CESS) whose accreditation process has been approved by the Virginia Council for Private Education as authorized by the Virginia State Board of Education.

For more than 125 years, MSA-CESS has been a leading accreditation agency for public, private, and faith-based educational institutions in the U.S. and around the world. They are committed to helping schools meet their goals, advance professional development, and promote student achievement.

Head of School Michael Dewey: “To be recognized by an organization as reputable as MSA shows we have already established a quality program that is respected by members of the larger educational community. It also demonstrates to our parents and students that we are fully committed to improving and establishing Evergreen as a premier Christian high school.”

On February 12 and 13, 2024, MSA representatives visited our campus and conducted a full review of our curriculum, school policies, as well as our teaching faculty. After interviewing parents, students, board members, and staff, they recommended ECS for full accreditation without any stipulations. This is the highest recommendation that MSA awards. Their report was forwarded to MSA’s Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools which made the official pronouncement of accreditation. Upon notification of accrediation, our MSA accreditation will be for a period of seven years.
