This summer, our school will offer opportunities for both students and parents to stay engaged and sharpen essential skills during the summer months through our Evergreen Christian Summer Institute: ECSi.

Both ECS students and those in our community (high school and adult) are given the opportunity to earn course credit, strengthen their academic foundation, prepare for the upcoming school year, and strengthen their faith in God. This year, we are expanding the ECSi offerings to include athletic enrichment as well!

COURSES for CREDIT

Health

This self-paced, fully virtual course provides key health and wellness education. This is a credited one-semester course that fulfills the ECS Health requirement.

  • Cost: $515
  • Dates: June 8—August 2, 2026

Geometry

This full-credit course requires completion of Algebra 1 and will cover Euclidean geometry, algebra applications, and an introduction to trigonometry, all through a biblical lens. The course will be self-paced with instructor support. This is a perfect fit for a student looking to get ahead in math or shorten the gap between Algebra 1 and Algebra 2.

  • Cost to ECS Students: $1,030 (Requires completion of Algebra 1.)
  • Cost to Outside Students: $1,550 (Requires completion of Algebra 1. Covers the cost of a Microsoft account.)
  • Dates: June 8—August 2, 2026

Trigonometry

This half-credit course requires the completion of Algebra 2 and will cover the basic topics of trigonometric functions and their applications. The course will be self-paced with instructor support. This is a great option for strong math students looking to skip Precalculus or students looking to strengthen their math skills before moving on to Calculus. 

  • Cost: $515 (Requires completion of Algebra 2.)
  • Dates: June 8—August 2, 2026

Art & Aesthetics

This self-paced, fully virtual course grounded in Christian philosophy explores beauty as a reflection of God's character and creative nature. Students examine how art expresses truth, goodness, and meaning, engaging Scripture alongside historical and contemporary works. This is a credited one-semester course that can be counted as a fine art or elective credit.

ACADEMIC ENRICHMENT

Math Refreshers

This fully virtual, self-paced summer math refresher is designed to help students maintain momentum and enter the new school year confident and prepared. Throughout the summer term, the instructor assigns targeted, level-appropriate practice in Albert.io to reinforce essential skills and address learning gaps, while also preparing students for the next level of math. Built-in accountability and teacher guidance ensure students stay engaged without overwhelming their summer schedules.

  • Cost to ECS Students: $310 
  • Cost to Outside Students: $360 (Covers the cost of a Microsoft account.)
  • Dates: June 8—August 2, 2026

Test Prep (SAT/ACT Prep) 

This fully virtual, self-paced SAT/ACT preparation experience helps students strengthen the specific skills and problem-types most commonly assessed on college entrance exams. Using Albert.io, the instructor assigns targeted practice aligned to SAT and ACT standards, focusing on accuracy, pacing, and strategic thinking. Ongoing accountability and guided feedback ensure students make steady progress while building confidence for test day without disrupting their summer plans.

  • Cost to Outside Students: $360 (Covers the cost of a Microsoft account.)
  • Dates: June 8—August 2, 2026

College Essay Writing Workshop

This virtual workshop will help students craft three standout college application essays with individualized feedback and guidance. This type of essay practice is perfect for juniors and seniors looking to knock out application essays before the school year starts.

  • Cost: $515
  • Dates: Scheduled for 2 weeks between June 8—August 2, 2026 at a time that works for both the student and instructor

Intro to Christian Apologetics

This four-week introductory apologetics course for parents and non-ECS high school level students is offered in partnership with the C.S. Lewis Institute. The course covers key topics such as faith and reason, the authority of scripture, the existence of God, and the apologetics of C.S. Lewis, with a mix of eight in-person sessions led by Head of School Michael Dewey and 20 hours of online video modules led by Dr. Art Lindsley of the C.S. Lewis Institute.

  • Cost: $155
  • Dates: July 7—30, 2026, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7:00—8:20 a.m.

Certificate of Completion: All participants will receive a certificate of completion from the C.S. Lewis Institute, as well as be eligible for special recognition at our annual Commencement each May. Information about this opportunity will be discussed on the very first day the course meets.

ECS Freshman Week and New Student Day (Optional) 

Designed for incoming ECS students, this optional three-day, in-person experience supports a smooth and confident transition into high school. Day one invites new upperclassmen to join rising freshmen for an introduction to ECS—its culture, expectations, and community. Days two and three are focused specifically on rising freshmen, offering an introduction to high school life through activities centered on executive functioning skills, study strategies, confidence building, and meaningful class bonding.

  • Freshmen Week Cost: $255
  • Freshmen Dates: Wednesday, August 5—Friday, August 7, 2026, 9:00 a.m.—1:00 p.m.
     
  • New Student Day Cost: $80
  • New Student Day: Wednesday, August 5, 2026, 9:00 a.m.—1:00 p.m.
