ECS hosted the second annual Girls Flag Football Tournament again this year. Four teams took part in the all-day event on Saturday, April 25. We were led by a solid crew of five senior athletes. The girls played four full games in one day and took home second place! A strong showing for such a new program at ECS.
The ECS Boys Flag Football Team, led by 6 senior athletes, competed in 10 games this season along with the NVIAC tournament, where the boys finished in fourth place. Congratulations to Luke A. & Noah M. for being named by the league as First Team All-Conference.
The ECS Boys Tennis Team has completed seven of their eight schedule matchups this season. Senior Sean B., mostly known for his skills on the basketball court, is finishing out his high school career on the tennis court and impressing with several key victories this season. He's taken down some of the top players at John Paul the Great, Trinity, Immanuel, and Fairfax Home School. The team will compete in their final match of the season on Wednesday, May 13 vs Dominion Christian. Also, our Girls Tennis Team was able to compete in a match vs Fairfax Home School and Dominion Christian. We are hoping to have enough interest in our girls program to run an official Fall season next year.

As our Swim Team approached the end of their season, our athletes made quite a few notable accomplishments. All in all, they had a very successful 2025-2026 season. Congratulations, Eagle swimmers!
Our Boys Varsity Basketball Team kicked off their season with a favorite tradition - our annual Blue and White game! @providenceacademy hosted a scrimmage and cheered on our boys in a slam dunk of a season-opener event!
With three separate girls volleyball teams this year, there is no lack of excitement in the Eagle Center this Fall. Our girls varsity volleyball is off to a great start with an 8 and 0 record. They are currently holding down first place in the NVIAC with key wins coming against Virginia Academy and Highland. Our girls junior varsity volleyball team is also performing well and are currently in third place in the NVIAC. And then there is our hard fighting developmental squad affectionately known as JJV. They pulled off an exciting win against Cornerstone Christian Academy and have shown significant improvement.

Even though they have had to play all of their games off site, the boys varsity soccer team has had a strong second half of the season and as of Oct. 5, 2025, they are in first place in the NVIAC. A lot of players from last year graduated, so we are extra proud of the arduous work this team has put in and how they have come together as a team. We are anxiously looking forward to having home games on campus in the Spring, when girls varsity takes the field.
While Evergreen’s softball team entered its inaugural season as a club sport, the girl’s team has surpassed all expectations, making a strong argument for why they should be a permanent fixture in ECS athletics for years to come. Facing experienced teams that have been around for many years, Coach Nick Albu led the team to a 2-1 record, notching commanding victories over Foxcroft and Trinity Christian in Fairfax. With a couple of flame throwing pitchers on the roster who are getting ready for their senior year, we can’t wait to see all that they accomplish next season.
Our golf team hit the greens at Hidden Creek Country Club and brought home some impressive results from their first tournament. Rachel S. took first place for girls, besting golfers from several other area schools, and William O. tied for first place for boys out of 14 golfers. William finished with an impressive score of 43. As a team, we came in third place behind Fairfax Christian and Virginia Academy. It was an exciting start to the season!
In just their first year of competition, the Eagle Swim Team consisted of eight swimmers who were able to compete in three separate events. While two of our founding swimmers are graduating this year, the team has a strong core that promises to increase the competitive quality of the program next season.
ECS fans showed up in force for two eventful Homecoming basketball games on Friday, January 10., 2025. The varsity girls put up a good fight against the Seed School, enduring a heart wrenching loss in the final moments of the game. They made us proud with how hard they competed! And of course, they took out their frustrations the following week with a crushing win over Fairfax Christian. The varsity boys team had the unique experience of playing against a Canadian Travel Team that was in town for the week. Cali Prep Canada may have looked intimidating when they entered The Eagle Center but were ultimately no match for the Eagles. After giving their all on the court, the boys took home a 72-58 win.
