While Evergreen’s softball team entered its inaugural season as a club sport, the girl’s team has surpassed all expectations, making a strong argument for why they should be a permanent fixture in ECS athletics for years to come. Facing experienced teams that have been around for many years, Coach Nick Albu led the team to a 2-1 record, notching commanding victories over Foxcroft and Trinity Christian in Fairfax. With a couple of flame throwing pitchers on the roster who are getting ready for their senior year, we can’t wait to see all that they accomplish next season.
Our golf team hit the greens at Hidden Creek Country Club and brought home some impressive results from their first tournament. Rachel S. took first place for girls, besting golfers from several other area schools, and William O. tied for first place for boys out of 14 golfers. William finished with an impressive score of 43. As a team, we came in third place behind Fairfax Christian and Virginia Academy. It was an exciting start to the season!
In just their first year of competition, the Eagle Swim Team consisted of eight swimmers who were able to compete in three separate events. While two of our founding swimmers are graduating this year, the team has a strong core that promises to increase the competitive quality of the program next season.
ECS fans showed up in force for two eventful Homecoming basketball games on Friday, January 10., 2025. The varsity girls put up a good fight against the Seed School, enduring a heart wrenching loss in the final moments of the game. They made us proud with how hard they competed! And of course, they took out their frustrations the following week with a crushing win over Fairfax Christian. The varsity boys team had the unique experience of playing against a Canadian Travel Team that was in town for the week. Cali Prep Canada may have looked intimidating when they entered The Eagle Center but were ultimately no match for the Eagles. After giving their all on the court, the boys took home a 72-58 win.
The ECS Wrestling Team has grown over the years from a small handful of students in 2021, to well over a dozen in 2024. In commenting on this year’s team, Coach Morgan noted, "We had many new wrestlers trying the sport for the first time, but our six returning veterans stepped up as leaders.” It is true that both basketball and volleyball have brought home more than a few trophies over the years, but Coach Morgan thinks the future of wrestling at ECS looks brighter than ever. “All our athletes have shown remarkable growth as we continue building this program. I'm proud of these athletes for their hard work during the season as we look to VISAA competition in 2025-2026."
Our Winter Sports Pep Rally was a huge success, bringing together students, athletes, and faculty to celebrate the start of the winter sports season. The event was a lively introduction of our talented basketball, swimming, and wrestling teams.

The '23-'24 Evergreen Christian Varsity Girls Soccer team finished their season 7-1 in the NVIAC and took 2nd place in the tournament. We can’t wait to see what the future holds as ECS athletes continue to be a light for the Lord both on and off the field.
Our Varsity Boys Basketball team ranked number 9 in the state of Virginia and won the VISAA Division III state championship. The Eagles concluded the season with an overall record of 23-10.

The Boys Soccer team faced some stiff competition but came together as a team to win games and learn from their defeats. Cheers to the seniors who played well this season and will be missed.
Both the JV and varsity boys basketball teams enjoyed a competitive season. The varsity boys finished their season strong at the NVIAC championship game, finishing second in the conference. Congratulations, Coach Philogene and team!
Our Eagle wrestlers are on the mat in the gym perfecting their sport. Wrestlers learn to use their bodies in conjunction with their brain to engage in a “chess match” on the mat with their opponent. Wrestling practice photos are views of athletes working on the following techniques: Drilling off of Bottom, Escape from Bottom, Working Under Hooks, Mat Return, Takedown, Iranian, and Leg Riding.
Our Lady Eagle Basketball Team is enjoying a great season against their competition. Go...
Eagle Cross Country athletes enjoyed a great season of training and setting records.
Congratulations to our ECS JV Girls Volleyball team, who placed 2nd overall in the Northern Virginia Independent Athletic Conference in their very first season! Our student-athletes truly gave this season their all and modeled what it means to “do all to the glory of God,” on and off the court (1 Corinthians 10:31). We are so proud of their sportsmanship, commitment to building up one another as teammates, and hard work day after day. Go, Lady Eagles!
