College Preparation

As Christians we are told to “excel in everything – in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in all earnestness, and in our love . . . (2 Cor. 8:7)” As a Christian school this means that in addition to teaching God’s Word we are called to excel academically, preparing our students to grow in wisdom and understanding of all truth. Our goal is to not only prepare students for the next level of schooling, but to prepare them to excel in their future studies and be spiritual and academic leaders on the college campus.

This commitment to preparing the next generation of Christian leaders demands a rigorous liberal arts curriculum, where all classes are taught at an advanced level of instruction. For us, rigor does not mean assigning a lot of homework or making things “hard” for students. It means teaching them to think deeply, to engage higher order reasoning skills, and to develop the ability to solve complex problems.
