We’re excited to announce that Evergreen Christian School (ECS) has successfully undergone a preliminary assessment of our entire school program and been accepted as a Candidate for Accreditation by the Middle States Association Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools (MSA-CESS). 

For more than 125 years, MSA-CESS has been a leading accreditation agency for public, private, and faith-based educational institutions in the U.S. and around the world. They are committed to helping schools meet their goals, advance professional development, and promote student achievement. 

“It is quite an accomplishment to make it to this phase in the accreditation process in just under two years as a school, and it means we are well on our way to securing full accreditation before our first graduating class,” said Head of School Michael Dewey. “To be recognized by an organization as reputable as MSA shows we have already established a quality program that is respected by members of the larger educational community. It also demonstrates to our parents and students that we are fully committed to improving and establishing Evergreen as a premier Christian high school.” 

ECS is now listed in the MSA Membership Directory as a candidate for accreditation, alongside every school that MSA endorses. Colleges and universities use this directory to determine that student applicants are coming from programs recognized as meeting the standards for accreditation.  

Our school accreditation team will now work toward the next step in the accreditation process -- a full site visit from MSA this fall. The visiting team will be comprised of educational professionals within the MSA member community who will conduct a final evaluation of our program, engaging all stakeholders in the ECS community, including students, parents, and faculty. The result of this visit will be a recommendation to MSA for full accreditation.

We anticipate receiving the official offer of accreditation by the Spring of 2024.
