Course Selection for Returning ECS Students for 2022-2023 School Year
It’s course selection time! As we prepare for next school year, we need all returning students to let us know which classes they plan on taking. Please complete the Course Selection Form by February 28 to guarantee your preferred choices are taken into consideration. Once the form is completed and submitted, each student will have a one-on-one consultation with Mrs. Gilroy to finalize their choices. Shortly after the course requests have been submitted, meetings will be scheduled by the school office. Finalized student schedules will be made available after the master schedule has been created.
The process for generating the 2022-2023 Master Class Schedule will begin on March 1 and is based upon student selections. It will take several weeks to build as we make every effort to ensure students are placed in the classes they have selected. While students are free to select Honors or AP classes, final placement is based upon three factors: a student’s past performance in prerequisite courses, teacher recommendation, and the progression of the student’s performance in the current academic year. This should not deter a student from requesting a course for which they have great interest.
We ask all students and parents to prayerfully consider which courses the student would like to take. Click here to view an updated copy of the Academic Course Catalog. The catalog contains descriptions of each course and includes the amount of homework students can expect on a weekly basis. We will make every effort to offer a class even if only a handful of students select it. However, some elective courses require a minimum enrollment in order to be successful. If a course is cancelled due to low enrollment, students and parents will be notified so that an alternate selection can be made.
