Missions Week 2024

Missions Week Prayer

Missions Week 2024 (March 5-8)

During Missions Week at Evergreen Christian School, students heard from a variety of speakers.

The work in missions is never easy, but it is the heart of Christ. It is a reminder to take the Gospel to our neighbors and those far away. We pray and hope that students will be on a mission field, whether here at home or serving other nations. We must be willing to share what God has done for us. At this time of the year, as we prepare for Easter, never forget to live out what He has done for you.

We pray that the Lord will stir our students' hearts for missions and that each student would prayerfully consider the role God has for them to play in fulfilling the Great Commission in this season of their lives and beyond!

Missions Week, Day 1

Mrs. Brianne Hendrick from Rwanda Children kicked off the 2024 ECS Missions Week. She is an interior designer by trade with a heart to help the hurting in the name of Jesus. She is an active volunteer with Rwanda Children, a non-profit in Rwanda started in 2013 by a genocide survivor of the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi. Her relationship with RC began with a prayer: "God, make me a part of something bigger than myself, something that can only be explained by saying, 'God is in this!'" She has visited Rwanda multiple times over the years and uses her connections and communication skills to share the work of Rwanda Children and further their mission to break the cycle of poverty. She believes the Lord will use each believer who prays this simple heartfelt prayer, “Lord, use me.”

ECS Visual Content Creator, Mrs. Ashley Bobeng, shared about her experience with YoungLife. Young Life is a group of caring adults who go where kids are, win the right to be heard, and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with them. She encouraged students to love those around them and be bold when sharing their faith.

Missions Week, Day 4

To conclude ECS Mission Week 2024 students heard from ECS's own Mrs. Sandra Dewey who the Director of Library and Educational Technology Resources. She spoke about the true meaning of being a missionary and how that has impacted her own life. She encouraged students that God created each one of them for this exact moment in time. Mrs. Dewey led students in a time of prayer while the Chapel band closed with a time of Worship.

Thank You to Our Speakers

We are so grateful for all of our wonderful speakers this week sharing and encouraging our students on the importance of the great commission. "And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation." Mark 16:15
